North Carolina is my Home...the South is my foundation."
North Carolina has been Jason's home for over 20 years. Born in Shreveport, LA on August 4, 1981 and raised entirely in the South, Jason would graduate high school in Asheville, attended his first years of college at UNCA, later received his Associates Degree in Raleigh, has lived in the Mountains and Piedmont, vacations at NC's Coastal beaches, and holds office in Henderson, NC. "I was born and raised in Louisiana, living in both Georgia and Texas for a time. My parents traveled with us all across America, but I'm a Southerner. My roots are deep in the South...still, the beautiful state of North Carolina has been and always will be my HOME!"
Nearly 15 years of being involved in NC politics...on ALL sides of the aisle!"
Jason was raised to have a mind of his own, and that reflects his political activity. From a local precinct chair, to State campaigns volunteer, participant in various civic-related programs, and persistent candidate who never sacrificed his Integrity. Aside from addressing the needs of his community as a City Councilor at Large, Jason serves on the boards of several local non-profits.
"I am who GOD made me, and I make it a point to give the best of me to my family, community, and State. I've never been willing to allow politics to change that. Dividing neighbors over their political and private views has never helped our poorest and most disadvantaged communities!"
Our Military is part of my Family's legacy. It's not a political talking point."
Jason is an addition to generations that have served our Country and communities. Jason's grandfather served in the US Navy, Jason's father served in the US Air Force - then in the Air National Guard while working full-time, and Jason's son proudly and currently serves in the United States Air Force as well.
"Because of my admiration for my Father and Grandfather who served our Country proudly...I wanted to do something for others. It was only Divine intervention that I did not enlist. I am grateful to be a public servant. But it will never match the sacrifices and service of my family!"
My parents loved me unconditionally; their support, for me, was everything!"
Aside from being a full-time government employee, Jason's dad fought forest fires to earn extra income to buy his family a home and to travel; he was also Jason's Little League coach. Jason's mom was "like an Angel on earth". Her kindness and realness were legendary, as she was a "mother" and confidante to so many people she encountered.
"I was Blessed! My parents sacrificed everything to make sure I had a great childhood. Both of my parents showed me that hard work and Faith will open any door. My dad is my hero...and although Mom passed when I was 19, I try to emulate her love, sincerity, and kindness everyday."
WHO I REALLY AM
"On average, voters get two candidates. One that is created only to win votes, and another that is the real person. What I place on this site or release publicly are thoughts, visions, and goals that represent who I am as an everyday person...and what I hope to accomplish for every individual. I'm not going to give you the opposite. I like to say that "I'm the same person in office as I am in the grocery store". Please follow me on our social media pages and know that your support means the world to me, my family, and to all our Campaign staff and volunteers!" - JS
